Whether you’re talking about her as a songwriter, guitarist or vocalist, one thing is indisputable: Hamilton’s Terra Lightfoot is a ferocious talent. Her songs tap into the raw emotion of hearts supercharged by love, lust, loneliness and temptation. Her playing melds expert finger-picking and distorted, hook-heavy melodies. And her elemental voice commands attention and awe, whether on slow-burning soul ballads or hard-charging rock numbers. Check out her video 'Paradise' here

KABN - This is the FIRST weekly Salmon Bake of the season!

Fresh Wild Salmon straight from Haines Alaska served fresh off the grill! Grab a plate and pile on the sides and salads, then sit down and enjoy the show! BBQ starts between 6-6:30, music at 7pm.

"KABN is a true northern band, practicing in a little cabin nestled at the base of Mount Sima in Whitehorse, Yukon. They are a group of aspiring song writers who play a wide variety of music, but regularly come back to their roots as a blues/rock band. If you like a mix of blues and rock, like the Tragically Hip, the Headstones and the White Stripes, mixed with fun new originals, you will love these guys. Bring your dancing shoes!"

This band features Haines Junction's very own Lee Drummond!
Call or email now to reserve your dinner. Free admission for the show!

Art Journaling Group
Kim Henkel hosts an Art Journaling group at the St. Elias School art room every Tuesday from 7-9pm. Bring supplies if you have them, if not, Kim is happy to share hers.

    About

    On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, the CBC Community Reporter for Dakwäkäda-Haines Junction (Kari Johnston) speaks on Yukon Morning with Christine Grenier at around 8:20 am. Tune in at 103.5 FM.

    +++ Kari's Note +++
    These transcripts are not verbatim of what was said on the radio. These notes are prepared in advance of the interview. Due to time, and how I am prompted by the host, not everything is read on air.

    Where do I get the content?

    Most of the content is written by other community members. I just edit it a bit and try to make it flow. I do seek out some content myself, and I often refer to the Happenings of Haines Junction Facebook Page.

    I try to email community event organizers a few days in advance to get the content. If you would like to be on that email list, please use the contact me below.
