Please note this event is dependent on weather. 👉Äshèyi update CAFN is inviting Citizens to the Da Ku Cultural Centre on Saturday, February 14 for an Äshèyi update. Join us from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to hear about the Äshèyi Agreements, community projects and the relicensing process for the Aishihik Generating Station. 👉Community Energy Planning Champagne and Aishihik First Nations is holding community meetings next month to discuss Community Energy Planning. These will be fun information sessions to learn about how CAFN communities use energy, as well as their concerns and priorities. We also want to identify opportunities for CAFN-led clean energy projects. Open to everyone, free of charge, this will be at the St. Elias Convention Centre starting at 7pm. We'll be diving into what adaptogens are, how these herbs support our immune and nervous systems (among MANY other things) and how to integrate them in our daily self-care routines. This will be a medicine making workshop, and we'll all be making our own adaptogen medicines after exploring several preparation methods (tinctures, glycerites, and dual extractions). To sign up or for more details, email me at [email protected] To sign up, send me an email at [email protected] 👋 Adventure Time 👉If you want to come visit HJ but don’t have access to a reliable vehicle, Adventure Time runs a shuttle service all winter long, on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 👋Thrift Store 👉 The Haines Junction Thrift Shop, located in the basement of the Log Church, is open every Thursday from 2-6 pm, and is presently accepting donations of clean good condition clothing, small household items and books - except text books, as unfortunately they never sell. Please do not donate summer clothing until spring as storage space is limited. Donated items can be placed outside the Thrift Shop doors at any time, as volunteer staff go by daily to put the items inside. 👋Kluane Region Food Hamper program 👉The Kluane Region Food Hamper program supports food hamper delivery from Takhini River Subdivision to Beaver Creek. The program supports over 150 clients and 6 “mini caches.” Funding is provided by the Food Bank Society of Yukon and the Food Banks Canada. This is a volunteer run program supported by community partners: Village of Haines Junction, Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, Kluane First Nation and White River First Nation. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who dedicate their time to the program, donate money or food. 👋Yukon Heritage Day Celebration 👉Hosted by Kluane Outdoor Inspirations, on February 20 from 11am to 5pm. Drop by to celebrate the day at beautiful Kluane Lake, with storytelling by Pauly Sias and John Fingland, Southern Tutchone lessons with Lenita Alatini, nourish yourself with a therapeutic sauna and comfort foods. Registration is free! Firefighter Fitness Program — Haines Junction Thinking about wildland firefighting this season? Or just want to get seriously fit with a purpose? This one’s for you. Sha Shäw Corporation and Yukon First Nations Wildfire are rolling out a FREE Firefighter Fitness Program—combining functional strength, conditioning circuits, wildland-specific training, and WFX Fit Test prep (the mandatory fitness test you must pass to be a wild fire fighter. Open to the whole community --> if you had a resolution to get fit and have fun in 2026, this training program might be the thing you need to achieve your goals... and it could lead to a JOB at the end! This family-friendly event will be hosted at the St. Elias convention Centre on March 6 & 7, 2026. Join us for an exciting two-day event filled with winter lights, snow sculptures, workshops, artisan market, warm drinks, kids’ activities, musical performances, costume dance party contest and more. 👋St Elias Lions Club 👉Lions Sweetheart Bonfield happening on Saturday, February 14 and Sunday the 15th 👋St Elias Cross Country Ski Club 👉 Our grooming crews were busy over the holidays getting the trails in great condition for the season. 👉 Thanks to everyone who has renewed their membership. If you haven't done so yet, it’s the perfect time to renew your membership with the St Elias Cross Country Ski Club. Your membership fees are crucial—they provide the funds needed to maintain our equipment and keep our beautiful trails groomed throughout the winter.
👋Pine Lake Run! 👉Rune Monstad is doing a bit of feasibility work on run competition for next summer in the Pine Lake area. He’s posted a few possible routes on the Happenings Facebook page – get in touch with him and let him know what you think! 👋Haines Junction Minor Hockey 👉A huge thank you to all of the coaches, volunteers, players and arena staff who are making it a great season so far! 👋Romp-n-Run 👉Romp n Run is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11:30am Come enjoy a facilitated program, followed by a healthy snack, and free play. 👋Pickleball 👉Every Monday and Friday night 5-7pm in the school gym 👋 Fit with Nick! 👉Tuesdays at 6pm in the Mezzanine. 👋 Yoga 👉Sundays from 6-7:15pm at the St Elias Convention Center (atrium).
