👉June is such a busy time of year in our community!! 
👉Congratulations to our high school graduates and all St Elias Community School students for another tremendous school year. A huge thank you to the staff and teachers who make it happen! 
👉A big thank you to the school for hosting a fabulous Diversity Parade. It was a joyous event and we’re so looking forward to it becoming an annual tradition.
👉 Thank you to all of the volunteer groups who did the highway/community liter pick-ups to help make our community look even more spectacular!
👉 A big thank you to all of the volunteers who managed the Thrift Store this past season – it will reopen in the fall 
👉What a tremendous Bluegrass Festival Weekend! It’s so great to see so many visitors to our community. A huge thank you to the organizers, volunteers, attendees performers and the local business community!

In Takhini River Subdivision Hall, Friday June 19 -21. 2026
Registration is from 12-7pm on Friday
Bring your potlatch bags! Absolutely no disposables will be at this event. Breakfast and Lunch provided. Food trucks onsite for lunch. Bring cash - no ATM service available.

👉Help shape the future of Da Ku
MONDAY JUNE 29
CAFN Citizens are invited to share their ideas, and visions for the Future of Da Ku Cultural.
5:30pm to 8:30pm. Dinner provided.


👉 Äshèyi Gathering & Camp:
Citizens, families, Elders, youth, and community partners are invited to join us at Äshèyi Män (Aishihik Lake) for a five‑day cultural camp and the Äshèyi Gathering July 4.
 The purpose of the gathering is to:
 • Revitalize connections between Äshèyi, the people, and the land
 • Support knowledge sharing across generations
 • Share the history and path forward to let Äshèyi rest with other Parties
Camp activities include:
Beading and language sessions, net setting and processing, community workshops, field trips, campfire talks, and optional photo/video interviews with Elders and youth.
Location: Äshèyi & Shäkat Ku Camp
Travel: Drive the Aishihik Road (approx. 4–6 hours). A boat shuttle from 27 Mile will be available on July 4 (weather dependent, limited space). Please call to reserve

👉The Shakwak Hall has been at the heart of our community for decades. Before it comes down, join us on Canada Day to celebrate its history.
Dust off your old hockey jersey, bring a vintage car, and share your memories one last time. After the Canada Day parade, we'll gather at the Bill Brewster Arena.
Have photos, stories, or memorabilia connected to the Hall? Bring them along. Items will be tagged, scanned, and returned to their owners.

👋Pedal Junction
👉 Notice: Phase 2 of Bike Skills park construction is planned for July. This includes the pump track and a run bike track. There will be heavy equipment and workers on site during business hours. Please follow their guidance on what parts of the park are off limits during construction.

👋Kluane Region Food Hamper program
👉The Kluane Region Food Hamper program supports food hamper delivery from Takhini River Subdivision to Beaver Creek. The program supports over 150 clients and 6 “mini caches.” Funding is provided by the Food Bank Society of Yukon and the Food Banks Canada. This is a volunteer run program supported by community partners: Village of Haines Junction, Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, Kluane First Nation and White River First Nation. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who dedicate their time to the program, donate money or food.

👉 Planning is well underway for the Augusto! Children's Festival happening August 7th to 9th, 2026. Tickets go on sale Thursday, June 25, 2026! Check out the website on that day for all the details on performances and the 30 workshops happening over the weekend. Be sure to buy your tickets early and sign up for workshops at the same time!


👋St Elias Chamber of Commerce
👉 Has started a new social media campaign called “GoHainesJunction”. Follow the accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to see lots of amazing HJ content and local business features.

👉KLRS regularly hosts community events throughout the summer. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updates!


👋Pine Lake Triathalon!!

1 km swim, 23 km bike, 6 km run
Start at Pine Lake Beach, swim over the lake. Bike at Bear Creek to Haines Junction’s Muffins. Then run back to the beach. Individuals or as a team. This is a fun race for everyone. The most important is not to win, but to join it and have fun. There will be a barbecue, finisher t-skirt, sticker and couple prices after the race on beach.

👉Romp n Run is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11:30am
Come enjoy a facilitated program, followed by a healthy snack, and free play.


Haines Junction Softball Nights!
Looking for something fun to do this summer? Come out and join us for some casual softball!
We’ll be playing Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7:00 PM at the school field. A chance to get outside, have some laughs, meet neighbours, and enjoy the evening.
No equipment? No problem! Bats, balls, and gloves will be provided. Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and a willingness to have fun.
All skill levels welcome — whether you haven’t played in years or you’re picking up a glove for the first time.
