June 6 is the BIG DAY for all Yukoners with a softer launch/reopening for Haines Junctioners while the new staff get up to speed happening in late May. 👉Congratulations to the the Haines Junction Junior Rangers and their Coaches Marcel Dulac and Ivan Thompson for their 2nd place overall in the National Shooting competition in Toronto. 👉Last week the Northern Premiers Forum hosted a community dinner at Da Ku Cultural Center. There was a fantastic performance by the Dakwakada Dancers. Yukon Libraries also hosted the conclusion of the Yukon Writers Festival and it was so great to see local comic book artist/author Cole Pauls back home for a visit and presentation. 👉 Lots and lots of bear sightings. If your child will be 5 years old by December 31, 2025, they can start Kindergarten at St. Elias Community School in the 2025-26 school year. Registration can be done online or in person. The volunteer staff do their best to donate or recycle whatever items don’t sell by the end of May, but unfortunately some items do end up in the landfill. Please come out and support your local second-hand shop, and help reuse items and keep them out of our landfill! 👋Sports, Health and Fitness 👉Romp-n-Run Romp n Run is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11:30am Come enjoy a facilitated program, followed by a healthy snack, and free play. 👉Yoga Lotus yoga classes are: Sundays @6pm at the Atrium in the St Elias Convention Center.
