Do Not Miss the Magic!
The Festival is now 54% Sold Out!
The second annual Augusto! Children’s Festival will take place from August 10 to 12 at the St. Elias Convention Centre in Haines Junction.
The Dakwäkäda Dancers will open the festival late Friday afternoon, getting kids warmed up for dancing with Ross River's Dena Zagi band.
The theme this year is magic and theatrics - let your imagination be your guide! Learn a few magic tricks, decorate a festival bird mask, dance, drum, join the circus circuit, create a sock puppet or a milk jug swan – with 28 workshops, there is something for everyone!
Toddler Town for ages 4 and under will be a mini festival in itself with short concerts, structured craft activities, storytelling corners and the amazing cardboard village to explore.
All ages will come together for the feature performance on Saturday night – a one hour interactive magic show, with Alberta magician Sheldon Casavant. To start the magic, ventriloquist Kellie Haines will open the show with her puppet musical - fast paced ventriloquism, singing, dancing, high kicks and physical comedy will keep the audience guessing who is pulling the strings!
