Storytime at the Haines Junction Public Library

• 10am Fridays for stories and STEM activities!
  

BYTE 

• BYTE is hosting a movie night showing of Northern Youth Want at the Convention Center on Thursday, January 19 
  

St Elias Seniors Society (Patty Moore)

• Seniors and Elders refreshments and games every Wednesday at 2:00 at the Drop-In (lower floor of Yukon Housing Apartment Building).   
  
• Weekly floor curling, carpet bowling and indoor walking group on Thursdays at 2:00 in the Convention Centre.    
  
• Our next luncheon will be for Valentines Day but haven’t settled on a date yet
  
• We just finished our 2-day foot clinic yesterday but Happy Feet will be out again for the next one scheduled for February 27 and 28.
  

Kids Used Clothing and Gear Sale

• Need kids stuff?

Film Night!

• Kluane National Park and Reserve and the St Elias Ski Club are co-hosting a film night on January 12
  
• A Yukon made film about 3 local ski mountaineers as they attempt to climb Mount Logan.
  
• At St. Elias Convention Centre, 7pm, admission $10/adults, free for kids. (admission and concession to benefit non profit ski club)
  
• Kluane NPR will also have a table set up outside the auditorium with information about job opportunities coming up with the park. Come say hi to find out about exciting opportunities with the visitor experience, resource conservation and assets teams!

Shopping!
Thrift StoreOpen Thursdays from 2-6pm in the basement of the log church


At the present time the Thrift Shop is unable to accept donations, but the volunteers continue to add new items to the shelves every week from previously received donations.  The Thrift Shop is located in the basement of the Log Church, is run entirely by volunteers, and is a great place to find what you need at very low prices.

Art Journaling

• Wednesday evening art journal group provides time and space to be creative in whatever way works for you…. draw, paint, glue, write .

CAFN Youth Center - Cross Country Ski Club

• Tuesdays at 3:30pm
  
• Meet at the Youth Center for shuttle to the trails
  
• Equipment provided if needed
  
• Must complete a CAFN Youth Programs waiver to participate
  

St Elias Ski Club

• The volunteer groomers have been back at it
  
• We’d all like more snow but the ski trails are in pretty amazing shape 
  
• Hot tip – the Auriol Trail in Kluane National Park was recently trackset 
  
• Join the ski club for access to trail maps
  
• The ski club’s AGM will be on Tuesday, January 24 at 7pm on Zoom or in person at the Haines Junction Public Library
  
• AND the super fun Ski Function in Haines Junction family ski day will be Saturday, January 28 at Pine Lake!
  

Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay

• After a 3 year hiatus, we are back! 
  
• This event begins in Haines Junction, Yukon and ends in Haines, Alaska on Saturday June 17, 2023.
  
• We're busy revising information, recruiting volunteer groups, etc. 
  
• This year, they have 3 vacant checkpoints on the Canadian side that need to be managed by non profit groups. Organizers have been working on this since the fall but with no luck so far.
  
• Running a checkpoint is an opportunity to raise $1500 for your organization!
  
• There are 7 checkpoints along the way, managed by non profit groups

• BGC Yukon is offering new youth programming in HJ
